The Alpha Girls, et al

And of course, "What’s the difference between the Skulls, the Alpha Girls, and the Gang of Nine?"

Okay, here goes: The Gang of Nine are the nine original Alpha Girls. So everyone in the Gang of Nine are Alpha Girls…however, not all Alpha Girls are in the Gang of Nine. Some Skulls are in the Gang of Nine, which means, of course, that they’re Alpha Girls, too. All the Skulls are Alpha Girls, but not all Alpha Girls are Skulls.

The Skulls have a leader, the Gang of Nine do not. The Alpha Girls, being an anarco-syndicalist commune, take turns acting as a sort of executive officer for the week. But all the decisions of that officer have to be ratified at a special bi-weekly meeting, by a simple majority in the case of purely internal affairs, but by a two-thirds majority in all other matters.
